Random Useless Fact: Poor little Sena's family is more screwed up than poor little Omi's.

Sena's past isn't very well explained in the Gluhen anime. All that is known is that he once lived relatively happily with his family. However, one day his mother lost her mind and decided to go shoot everyone in the family dead. Then a huge chunk of his past is totally unknown.

Years later, Sena magically becomes a brand new member of Weiss. He is also "undercover" at Koua Gakuen (Koua School) along with Fujimiya Ran. Later, Persia reveals that he was assigned to this task because he was related to the founder of Kisaragi Gakuen, a "sister school" of sorts to Koua Gakuen, whose head, Inagaki, is Sena's uncle.

At Koua Gakuen, Sena befriends the girl sitting next to him in Class B, Miyazawa. Soon, Miyazawa gets promoted to the infamous "Class S," the elites of Koua Gakuen. She finds this class, unsuitable, however, and begs to go back to Class B. When she does, the heads of Class S (Touto, Inagaki, etc.) send her subliminal messages, which makes her commit suicide.

Sena is crushed, and so wants to avenge her death. But Kyou, another member of Weiss, tries to stop him. He recognizes Sena's spirit; it is the same as that of his younger brother Sumomu, who was killed for finding out "too much" about Class S.

Sena defies Kyou's orders, and goes to try and infiltrate Koua Gakuen. He is hurt badly in the process, and his attempt to find out Class S's secrets exposes both Kyou and Aya (Ran) to the heads of Koua Gakuen's illegal activities.

Later, when all of the Weiss members (that are still alive) -- Yohji, Ran, Sena, Omi, and Ken -- go and try and destroy Epitaph, Sena finds *gasp* his mother. Not recognizing her son, she shoots him through the heart. As Sena falls weakly to the ground, Aya comes running over. He watches as Sena slowly slips away, then demands to know why she shot him.

The woman walks over, then finally recognizes her son -- Kisaragi Kakeru. When she realizes what she has done, Epitaph reveals itself as a computer; Sena's mother; its "soul vessel" (borrowing YuGiOh terms here >.<). She is crushed and asks Aya to kill her. He obliges.

Forgive the terrible quality. These were portrayed as flashbacks (rather grainy flashbacks too) on an already not-that-greatly-animated anime series. As usual, if you take anything you must link back. Larger images can be requested here.
